Out HP Overnight Rowing Camp offers an unrivaled glimpse into the life of collegiate rowers and Stanford student-athletes. The Varsity Head and Assistant Coaches of Stanford’s rowing teams will provide expert technical skill instruction on the water. Campers will also work with Stanford’s Strength and Conditioning staff on campus and participate in evening discussions on college life, nutrition education, sport psychology and the college recruiting process. Campers stay in the dormitories on Stanford campus and row at our beautiful boathouse on the Port of Redwood City. The camp is open to all high school rowers and coxswains looking to take their rowing to the next level of performance, though we recommend at least one full year’s experience rowing.

Coxswains: To encourage development off the water, Women’s Rowing Assistant Coach and Camp Director, Bonnie Chilibeck, will run coxswain meetings during lunch breaks at the boathouse. Numerous topics will be discussed including: steering, commands, rowing technique, race calls vs. practice calls, tone, etc. Individual meetings will also be set up to go over a recording of the camper’s choice (a practice or a race) and to answer any questions they may have.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMP IS DESIGNED FOR HIGH SCHOOL ROWERS WITH AT LEAST 1 FULL YEAR OF EXPERIENCE. To maintain the quality of the camp for all campers, we request you respect this recommendation.
